Angelle
Angelle baby-plum tomato hits the increasingly attractive healthy snack market
Product is natural breeding result of extensive product and consumer research
The deeply red colored Angelle is a date shaped baby-plum
tomato. It has been traditionally bred by Syn
genta with focus on the increasing
consumer demand for smaller fruits for the ready to eat and healthy
snack market. This market is fast growing through an increasing
number of consumers that demand healthy snacks. Angelle offers a
very convenient eating experience, the size makes it attractive to
eat in one go. Consumers can easily hold 3-4 Angelle tomatoes in
one hand. The elongated shape makes biting more convenient, the
fruits don't plash and have very attractive inside structure.
Angelle has a fruit weight between 10 and 12 grams and has an
excellent balance in sweet and sour as well as in juicy and
firmness.
Angelle is the result of many years of product and consumer
research on taste and flavor, one of the cornerstones of the
Syngenta activities on vegetables agronomy. With identifying
specific
consumer demands, Syngenta has been
able to create through traditional breeding an excellently taste
and flavor balanced baby-plum tomato. Consumer research has been
globally conducted in several countries with a representative
sample of consumers (no details can be disclosed).
Next to the great flavor and taste the tomato also delivers solid agronomical results over the whole season. Both in active greenhouse conditions as well as passive greenhouse conditions Angelle delivers a good quality of production.
