Why e-license technologies?

Syngenta's new e-licensing system provides quick and easy access to our patented vegetable native traits for breeding.

Out-licensing our traits ensures that Syngenta's innovations can be used in more varieties and combinations, which translates into more choices for farmers. However, we understand that licenses can sometimes be difficult to negotiate. That is why we have set up an efficient, facilitated licensing process for plant breeding companies and plant breeders to access our patented native traits under transparent, FRAND (fair, reasonable and non-discriminatory) terms. Under our e-licensing system, the licensing terms are clear, no negotiation is necessary and the royalties ensure a fair sharing of benefits (i.e. added value) between patent owner, grower and licensee.
