TopRes® clubroot resistance

Monogenic dominant resistance* to clubroot disease for Brassica, e.g. cauliflower plant, cabbage and Brussels sprout

This dominant native trait provides Brassica oleracea plants including cauliflower, cabbage and Brussels sprouts with resistance to clubroot disease. Varieties containing this trait show a high level of resistance* which prevents the need for subsequent application of crop protection chemicals to control this disease

Use: The trait can be introduced into Brassica parental lines for use in producing Clubroot resistant commercial hybrid varieties.

Advantage: The trait is monogenic and dominant which makes the introduction into hybrids straight forward.  The commercial varieties containing this trait provide higher yield under disease pressure.  The trait is easily transferred between all Brassica oleracea.
