Use: The methods are useful for conveying FOM race 1,2 resistance into non-resistant melon germplasm; reliably and predictably introgressing FOM race 1,2 resistance into non-resistant melon germplasm; production of an inbred melon plant adapted for conferring, in hybrid combination with a suitable second inbred, resistance to FOM race 1,2; producing melon plants which are resistant to FOM race 1,2 occurring in melon; and producing seeds that result in melon plants resistant to FOM race 1,2 occurring in melon.
