This native trait referred to as CMV-2, provides Cucurbit plants including zucchini, acorn and pumpkin, with resistance to Cauliflower Mosaic Virus (CMV)
A Cucurbita plant comprising a Cmv-2 gene, is new.
Use: The plant and method are useful for developing further Cucurbita lines and hybrids with resistance to virus.
Advantage: The present invention provides stable and uniform plant variety with improved traits, where each of these lines has their own positive properties.
