Visit Syngenta at the International Machinery day - Belgium

Visit Syngenta during the International Machinery Days (Werktuigendagen) 24-25 September, Oudenaarde (Belgium)

The 30th edition of the International Machinery Days for the agricultural and horticultural sectors will take place on 24 and 25 September in Oudenaarde (Belgium). This year, Syngenta has once again planted a field of Levis leeks in order to give harvesting demonstrations. We would like to invite you both to the harvesting demos and to pay a visit to the Syngenta stand (no. 467).

Leek harvesting demos

What makes the Machinery Days unique is that the grower can view a variety of harvesting machines tackling the same variety of vegetable. The machinery manufacturers Verhoest, Baeckelandt, Lauwers, Bouckaert and Vanhoucke will be showcasing agricultural equipment with roll-up systems, machines with cylindrical containers and machines that automatically deposit the leek in rectangular containers. This year, the roll-up systems have been expanded and some constructors now use caterpillar tracks on their harvesters. They will also display leek-peeling machines, bundling machines and weeding machines.

In addition to leeks, there will also be demonstrations with cabbages and celeriac. Syngenta and other seed producers will also provide information about other vegetables, such as cauliflowers, sprouts, carrots, lettuce, courgettes and chicory.

SG1683: the new leek in town

In addition to the Levis-harvesting demonstration, Syngenta also has its own demo field in which the Delmas and SG1683 varieties will take centre stage. SG1683 is a promising new addition to our range of leeks.

Innovation

The Machinery Days will provide a stage for all kinds of aspects of cultivation. No less than 200 exhibitors will showcase innovations in the agrarian and other related sectors, including:

  • planting systems
  • fertilisation systems
  • watering techniques
